For the past few years, Jimmy Osmond and the rest of the team have been keeping the legacy of the late Williams alive and well at the Andy Williams Moon River Theatre. That legacy is set to be put in the spotlight this week when “Moon River & Me” and the “Andy Williams Christmas Spectacular” opens.

“It will always be Andy’s theater, and I’m going to run it the way I hope he’d want it to be ran,” Osmond told the Branson Tri-Lakes News. “Ultimately, I’d like to see it used an an incubator, in a way, to develop people who will eventually leave us and open up their own theaters or buy one in town because I think Andy would want to invest in these artists who in turn have to feel comfortable enough to invest in the town.”

First up is the return of the “Andy Williams Christmas Spectacular,” starring the Osmond Brothers and Lennon Sisters, at 8 p.m. Monday. The “holiday extravaganza” will feature both sets of famous siblings, as well as dancers, singers, performances by the Lennon Grand-daughters, the magic of Rick Thomas, holiday characters and more.

“I think it is so important, and I think the goal of both the Osmond and Lennon family was to preserve that legacy,” said Kathy Lennon. “He meant so much to us, to Branson and to so many other people, and it was a tradition to have him here for Christmas. We felt to honor him and his legacy, it was important to have that within the show.

“We feel like you just can’t have a Christmas show without that Andy Williams type of traditional Christmas variety show.”
The “Andy Williams Christmas Spectacular” runs from Nov. 4 through Dec. 12.

A new show, set to open Nov. 4, is the “Moon River & Me” show, which will be hosted by Osmond and feature comedian Chipper Lowell and an artist new to the Branson entertainment scene, Charlie Green.

“Moon River & Me” pays tribute to the life, times and music of Williams using video footage of Andy’s life, several singers performing his songs, and “surprise” guest stars at each show.

Green is a singer from Droitwich, Worcestershire, England, best known for his YouTube videos, as well as appearing on the second series of “Britain’s Got Talent” in 2008. After the show, Green signed a record deal and has been touring the world ever since.

In addition to the show, the theater is featuring a special “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” theme, including a newly redecorated gift shop that houses countless artifacts from Williams’ personal collection. For those interested, there is also a “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” experience available prior to the 10 a.m. show. The breakfast features “mini treats” like gluten-free asparagus and bacon crust-less quiche, assorted fruit compote mixed with vanilla yogurt, assorted Danish and pastries, pecan tartlets, gourmet decorated brownies and more.
